The description of this knife comes from the Japanese word for small sword. In 2004, the German company Zwilling acquired a factory in Seki Japan. This is where German engineering combines with Japanese craftsmanship. It takes more than 100 steps and 42 days to make each blade. The high-quality Shotoh or Paring knife by Henckel are truly a delight to use, and looked after will serve you well into the future. With an ergonomic Pakka wooden handle and a three-stage grinding, sharpening and polishing process called Honbazuke honing gives this blade a razor sharp edge. These knifes are perfect for preparation of, fruit, vegetables and smaller cuts of meat. The 48 layers of steel surrounding the core creates the Damascus-designed blades. Don’t they look amazing!
